PDO upper limit
It is well known that the most suitable charging PDO for iPhone is 9V, while the most common power specifications for USB PDs are 9V2A (18W), 9V3A (27W), and the power specifications for iPhone 14 series handshaking chargers are 9V3A. The actual charging power is very close to the upper limit of power that 27W PDOs can provide.
Can the voltage be increased?
First of all, from the perspective of the digital products launched by Apple, they are all done in strict accordance with the industry specifications, and they also use the general standard of fast charging. Even most Apple devices are still PD2.0, and have not been upgraded to PD3.0. It can be said that Apple is very cautious about charging.
The maximum supported voltage of iPhone is about 17V. Some rare PDO chargers can be used to charge 12V, 14.5V and 15V PDOs. Increasing the voltage is not the solution.
If it is related to the transmission current, the whole link should be considered more thoroughly. The Lightning interface used by iPhone is only a single side contact, and there is only one pair of pins for power transmission, so the power carrying capacity is not high. The Android phone uses a double-sided contact USB-C interface, which can transmit power up to four pairs of pins, so the Android phone interface can carry high-power fast charging with ultra-high current.
